Despite the second postponement and rescheduling of our 50th Reunion, Reunion related activities have taken place and we would like to share updates with you.  In this Newsletter you will hear about our rescheduled Reunion plans, our Class Gift Donation and "Mini" Reunion with Committee members and a couple of LHS 1970 classmates, a Bucket List request and a couple other topics.

Reunion Update

Our 50+2 (Class of 70 Turns 70) is rescheduled to September 16 & 17, 2022.  The details as we know them today, are listed on the Website page "50+2 Reunion Event Details". The plan is to "stay the course" with the original Friday and Saturday plans.  We expect to secure room blocks and prices probably Jan - March of 2022.  We also hope to hold the prices on Friday & Saturday event fees, however, that may be difficult with inflation.

Class Gift Donation & "Mini" Reunion

From Joy Rossborough Doyle,

On Friday, September 17th, Committee members Andrea Bosco Bingham, Joy Rossborough Doyle, Alan Foulds, Mark Sisson and a photographer from the Lynnfield Villager newspaper met at Lynnfield High School to present our Class Gift Donation.  For most of us, this was the first time back at LHS since graduation. The entry area has been renovated and it looks great. We were greeted by the Principal Bob Cleary (LHS 79) and Vice Principal Brian Bates.  We entered the auditorium and met with Doug Hodgkins, Choral Director and student Sumaedha Konduri.  We all gathered around the Auditorium Light Board (funded by our classmate donations) which was up and running and the technology was very impressive.  Sumaedha gave a terrific demonstration of the Light Board.

Following the demonstration we went outside to take a photo with the Big Check (created by Alan Foulds) which totaled $6,800 for the Light Board purchase.

The group then met at the Four Points by Sheraton in Wakefield and joined by Kate Power Benedetto, Karen Better Carlin and Anne Pierce Bruening (who was visiting Karen). We were given a tour of the venue by Tamara from Four Points who showed us the lobby and the ballroom where our Friday and Saturday events will take place.  It was easy to visualize where the bars, DJ, tables, dance floor and memorial table will be set up. Tamara spent a few minutes talking with the group and gave us some great ideas on how to decorate the tables and incorporate some fun games to get the classmates interacting.

The group then headed to the Yard House restaurant in Lynnfield's Market Street for a mini reunion.  In attendance and pictured below;  Anne, Karen, Kate, Andrea and husband Steve, Joy, Alan and wife Ace and Mark and wife Gini.

Joy, Alan & Ace                                     Gini & Mark

Later, Bob Sparkes joined us.  And a little later, Phil "PJ" McFarland and his wife Norma joined us. Dinner and conversation was great.  We can only imagine what fun a full Reunion will be!

Well how could we top this night???

We did, by landing on the front page of the Lynnfield Villager.

"Bucket List" Request

Classmate Bob Preble experienced a once in a lifetime adventure back in 2003, when he was involved with a mountaineering expedition up Mt Rainer in Washington state, elevation 14,400+ feet.  Bob has shared the details of his experience with several classmates.

This got us thinking, it is likely other classmates have experienced unique, life changing or "Bucket List" adventures they might like to share on this Website.  These experiences could be collected and shared in future Newsletters.  If interested, please submit a one page description of your experience and include photos if available.  Please send via email to:

Birthday Poll Results

You may have noticed the Birthday Month Poll on our Welcome page.  As it turns out 50% of poll participants guessed September had the highest amount of Website registered classmate birthdays.  September has 13 birthdays, however, December with 15 has the most.  A fun fact, September, November and December account for 31% of Birthdays.  Where were our parents Jan - March, 1952?

Reunion Committee Break

Our Reunion Committee has been meeting monthly for two years.  We will be taking a break until December.  There will be no Newsletter until December, however, we encourage classmates to stay in touch, share photos, stories and Announcements through the Website.

Take care & stay healthy,

The 50+2 Reunion Committee
